our SEO process - what we do

The WebStart SEO process consists of four main steps that can be applied to a single web page or a group of pages. Provision is made for follow-up fine tuning or ongoing SEO marketing campaigns where required.

Step1 - Consultation

Consultation is FREE and aims to gather information about your expectations and goals regarding the performance of your web site and scope of SEO work desired. Our better understanding of your business will ultimately lead to better SEO results. Access to your web site statistics report can be very helpful. We also like to know about previous success and failures you may have had with SEO. 
Step 1 can be undertaken immediately on your inquiry.

Step 2 - Evaluation & Recommendation

This most important and time consuming step is all about measuring current results, identifying weakness and formulating strategies to correct. Culminating in a verbal presentation of our recommendations. This usually includes:

  • statistical analysis of web traffic,
  • analysis of current search rankings,
  • identification of best keywords to target,
  • analysis of each keyword's competitiveness,
  • examination of current meta tags and page titles,
  • examination of current major page content and structure,
  • identification of passages of text in need of rewriting,
  • examination of filenames and path structures,
  • analysis of incoming and outgoing links,
  • verbal presentation, usually by phone, of our recommendations.

Step 3 - Rectification

This is the actual implementation of our recommendations as per Step 2. It usually takes longer to evaluate than to implement the rectifications required. Steps 2 and 3 can usually be completed within 2 weeks of your go ahead instructions. Step 3 is optional for clients only seeking advice.

Step 4 - Results Analysis

Two or three months after completion of Step 3 it is recommended that an analysis of results be undertaken. If further rectification "fine tuning" is required, this will help identify what needs to be addressed. Stage 4 is optional. This stage involves:

  • statistical analysis of web traffic,
  • analysis of each keyword's competitiveness,
  • analysis of current search rankings.

Repeating the Process

If you require our SEO process to be repeated for fine tuning or as part of an ongoing SEO marketing strategy, much of Step 2  will not be needed after the initial unless we are working with a new set of pages. In any case our charges will only reflect the time we actually devote to your needs.
